SOL Radio Virginia will be present at the 2026 ACBVA State Convention — "The Future is Ours: Shaping What's Next" — hosted by the American Council of the Blind of Virginia at the Holiday Inn & Conference Center, 20 Sanford Drive, Fredericksburg, Virginia. This three-day hybrid convention brings together the blind and low vision community from across the state for educational sessions, advocacy, innovation, and connection. It's our first in-person community event in Virginia, and a chance to introduce our accessible radio station to the people it's made for. We'll be sharing photos and stories from the convention right here after the event.
SOL Radio Virginia is a nonprofit community radio station, broadcasting in English for listeners across Virginia and beyond. It is a program of Seed Of Light Inc., a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN 87-2495055, Florida registration CH70297). Everything we broadcast is free to listen to, and it is made possible by donations and volunteers — not by commercial profit.
Our mission is to educate, inspire and serve the community through accessible media, with a special commitment to people with disabilities. We believe that information, culture and companionship should reach everyone, so our signal is designed to be easy to hear, easy to use, and welcoming to all.
The way we sound is a little different. SOL Radio Virginia has no rigid schedule. Instead, our short programs air throughout the day, woven into a continuous stream of music in English. Whenever you tune in, something good is playing — a piece of news, an inspiring story, a moment for children, or a note of encouragement — between songs chosen to keep you company from morning to night.
Part of a growing family. SOL Radio Virginia is the newest station of Seed Of Light Inc., alongside our Spanish-language station, SOL Radio. Same organization, same mission, and the same commitment to true inclusion — now speaking to the English-speaking community of Virginia.
In the community. Beyond the airwaves, we are building our presence on the ground in Virginia. From November 6–8, 2026, we'll join the American Council of the Blind of Virginia at the 2026 ACBVA State Convention in Fredericksburg — a reflection of our commitment to serving people with disabilities. We will share photos and stories from it right here.

Our short programs air throughout the day, woven into the music — anytime you tune in, something good is playing. Regular programs include Notisol (daily news with a focus on verifiable facts), Rays of Light (inspiration, community and disability-centered topics), Paws, Wings & Tails (animal stories with one message: adopt, don't shop), Bright Bites (practical, accessible cooking), Little Seeds of Light (educational content for children) and Trails of Light (inspiring biographies told with sensitivity).
The rest of the day is filled with accessible music, micro-programs and selected repeats.
